7 Wonders of the World Quiz

Our ancestors had many ways of leaving a legacy. Some accomplished this in an intangible way by accomplishing goals and inspiring the next generation. However, some people from ages past found more physical ways of proving their influence.

This is why a great many ancient monuments were crafted. Some were constructed to honor gods, and others to please ancient rulers. Those making these monuments, however, knew they were a part of something special. So many incredible sites were constructed by mere human beings. To classify some of the most imposing and impressive monuments of their day, ancient scholars created a list of “The Seven Wonders of the World.”

Originally, those scholars only had access to areas around Asia Minor, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. Only monuments from these areas were able to be visited and categorized as Wonders. By the year 2,000 A.D., historians were no longer bound by such limitations. The turn of the millennium demanded a bold new way to mark human progress. So, a Swiss organization was founded to collect votes on what lasting monuments in the modern age should be considered the new Seven Wonders of the World.

This quiz will discuss both the classic list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the 2001 New Seven Wonders of the World.

As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
