1970s American History

1970s American History Quiz

With all of the radical changes, dangers, and triumphs that occurred during the 1960s, one might assume that the following decade would keep up with this trend of generally positive change. That may be true to an extent.

However, so much peculiarity, hardship, and economic decline filled this period that it remains hard to put the 70s into a single category. Cold War tensions simmered a good deal during this time. Yet, new economic turmoil shook up the world at large.

Humanity didn’t seem to take as many bold leaps toward the future as it did during the 1960s, but there were no Cuban Missile Crises threatening to end all life on Earth. America’s 70s were a bit of a slump because of outside economic forces. Yet, there was a sincere vibrancy to the era’s culture. Music and fashion advanced ‘60s trends with new critical developments.

In addition, the American people got to see what happens when a president is caught being a crook. Disorder subsequently reigned over the White House for a few years. A war ended in a way that saved many young men from the front lines. America also took on a role as more of an advocate than a security officer.

As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
