Allied Powers of World War One Quiz

Allied Powers of World War One Quiz

World War Two is distinct from many other wars for its well-defined boundary between the “good guys” and the “bad guys.” Many people have pointed that out over the years. Though the Allied Powers of World War Two committed their own share of nightmarish atrocities against innocent noncombatants, you would be hard-pressed to argue they were less morally righteous than the Axis Powers who slaughtered entire ethnic groups that they deemed “subhuman.”

World War One was a different affair altogether. It has often been claimed that the First World War only started because of how tangled military alliances in Europe had become throughout the years. That is why there is less of a focus on “good guys” versus “bad guys” in World War One. There was us vs. them, truly enough. But countries found themselves on certain sides of the war almost arbitrarily. The Allied Powers were the victorious faction of World War One.

As a point of clarification, the Allied Powers in this quiz will also go over the political alliance during the time that it was called the Entente Powers. Both factions in World War One experienced a name change partway into the war, so each possesses two arguable titles, you see.

As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
