American Frontier Quiz

American Frontier Quiz

The first European settlers to reach America found themselves on the bank of a yet-unknown land. The Native Americans who first civilized the American continents were far different culturally speaking from the people who built civilizations in Europe. Because of the general conservation that was a staple of the cultures of many Native American tribes, the Americas were covered with thousands of miles of relatively undisturbed wilderness.

When the European settlers arrived, they wanted to cultivate America in a way that was a trademark of western civilization. Like their ancestors, they wanted to create stable cities and reliable agricultural lands that could support large populations and provide for more complex industrial capacities.

It took centuries for these settlers to end up creating true connected colonial societies that mimicked the general civilization structures back in Europe. And it was the explorer who made that reality possible. The larger geographic and scientific communities had no idea what secrets the American continent might hold.

So, the frontiersman also helped expand those fields by categorizing and mapping what they discovered. This quiz will ask you to identify some of the most famous frontier explorers, folk heroes, and landmarks as well as important events related to the exploration of the American frontier. As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
