Crazy Horse Quiz

The spirit of America is a topic which is sometimes debated. Some consider the element of rebellion to be one of the central tenants of the spirit of America. There are also those who believe a concern for your people is one of the most important aspects of America’s mythic spirit. One historic figure who embodied both of these qualities was the Native American leader and warrior Crazy Horse.

Crazy Horse rose to prominence during a highly violent time. Realizing that, he adopted violent ways to meet his ends. His moral compass centered on the defense of his people, but he committed atrocities to protect them. There lies much of the moral complexity of the American expansion into the West.

As the forces of both the U.S. government and those of Crazy Horse clashed, they both committed unmistakable acts of savagery. This leads to Crazy Horse carrying a debatable legacy. Was he a noble leader who fought tooth and nail to preserve his people, or was he a man who violently massacred his enemies even as they surrendered? The answer is both. This ends up singling out Crazy Horse as one of the best representations for the era of American expansionism.

The nation has come to respect Crazy Horse and pay more mind to the atrocities that ended up radicalizing him. As such, in the modern day, he is hailed as one of the most influential Native American historical figures.

By no means is this quiz intending to glorify any acts of violence committed by any persons involved. As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it having learned something new.
