Gods & Goddesses of World Mythology Quiz
Was it aspiration or inspiration that caused early man to craft pantheons of gods and goddesses? Was it a hope that all of the world was orderly and being watched over by powerful and generally decent beings, or was it simply a feeling that existence was so massive and difficult to comprehend that somebody must be in charge of it?
This phenomenon happened across the world. In even the most isolated regions of planet Earth, human societies living there put faith in invented divine entities. Entire monuments were constructed to honor these mythological figures, and many horrible deeds were committed to try and appease their omnipotent wrath. This quiz will examine some of the most noteworthy divine entities from mythologies found across the world.
As a point of important clarification, we won’t be including gods from modern polytheistic faiths because there are still hundreds of millions who respectfully believe in those higher powers. We aren’t talking about faiths like Hinduism, but rather the long-abandoned polytheistic faiths of the ancient world.
Another point of order is that some legends attribute different gods and goddesses with different feats or qualities. We will try to only include information that is universally applied to a single god or goddess for this quiz, but something might slip through the cracks.
As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
