A tidal wave of morbid curiosity surrounds the Third Reich. Unfortunately, those who don’t properly understand history have used this morbid curiosity to justify supporting the Nazis and their policies. There should never be any mistake or ambiguity in this historical understanding: The Third Reich was evil.
Its members were genocidal warmongers, brutalizers of women, and backstabbing marauders who regularly threw their own people to the wolves in exchange for a crumb more power. Those who would genuinely don their colors in the modern day are misguided as well as dangerous.
Aside from those modern fools, plenty of respectable members of society still find the Third Reich interesting as a nation whose fate was determined by the worst dregs of humanity. It’s appalling but fascinating, reading about the depths to which people can sink if they’re ruled by hatred and greed.
This quiz will explore some of the most abominable rulers of that terrible regime. By learning about these monsters, we also learn why modern democracies can never allow another period of Nazi-dominated politics anywhere in the world. Global suffering would be inevitable in such a case.
Because of the subject matter in this quiz, we will have to address some incredibly dark topics, and we would like to give an advance warning to those who might be especially sensitive to such matters. We don’t intend to dress up atrocities. However, it’s our intent to brooch such topics respectfully in memory of the victims.
