Notable Americans of the 18th Century Quiz
Even during its inception, the United States of America was a land of historic and influential individuals. Indeed, this makes sense as much of the rhetoric surrounding early American society was based on the individual and the power of opportunities to succeed in life.
A number of ambitious people came to America at all stages of its colonial past. Then, those people taught their own children the value of hard work and personal responsibility. This ended up causing the values of individualism to flourish in early America. It is debatable how much this philosophy impacted the dawn of the American Revolution, but it most definitely influenced a number of those early patriots to face down tyranny.
As is to be expected from any radical political movement, the period of the American Revolution allowed for people from all walks of life to rise the ranks and help steer global change. These were men and women who excelled in certain fields or otherwise used their talents to leave a mark on the flow of history. Some of them were powerful military commanders. Others were brilliant politicians and philosophers. Others still were citizens who gave up much for the cause of independence in the American colonies.
