One Hit Wonders of the 1970s Quiz

The One Hit Wonders of the 1970s Quiz.

In the wake of the incredible decade for music which was the 1960’s, the 1970’s proved to contain a few revolutions all its own. While many of its most memorable artists had hit after hit, there are still many groups who, for a brief moment in the 1970’s, tasted the delectable tincture which is fame. These groups had the talent in order to produce hit music, but, through any circumstance, they never managed to produce any more hits aside from their first. These are one hit wonders.

A one hit wonder is a common occurrence in the world of music, but it is still a subject which raises so many humorous questions in regard to the nature of talent and art. For example, was that one hit simply a fluke? If not, then why wasn’t the artist able to produce more songs as successful as that single hit? One Hit wonder groups also tend to be some of the most eccentric and fringe groups of musicians ever recorded.

While the one-hit wonders of the 1980’s were mostly the results of gimmicky groups with the ability to have the right song at the right time, the one-hit wonders of the 1970’s differ in that they tend to come from a more genuine place of artistic inspiration. For many of these artists, their careers were cut short by extenuating circumstances that left them forever remembered in history as one-hit wonders.

Today we want to test your knowledge on some of the most legendary songs and artists the seventies’ have to offer. Without further ado, join us on a musical journey by taking our One-Hit Wonders of the 1970’s Quiz.
