One-Hit Wonders of the 90s Quiz

The One-Hit Wonders of the 90s Quiz.

The music scene is unforgiving. Unless an artist is continuously managing to perform hits, it is easy for their careers to blow away in the winds of change. This is one of the ways in which a one-hit wonder artist is created. These individuals who managed to taste sweet success only to fall from the public eye are some of the most fascinating musical curiosities to be found.

For some of these one-hit wonders, they tried their hardest to return to their former stardom. For others, they had no desire to return to the prominence of days past with another hit. After the 80s brought a catalogue of gimmick songs and artists which became part of the catalogue of one-hit wonder history, during the 90s one-hit wonders managed to get even more absurd and experimental. With the odd economic state America was experiencing after the end of the 80s as well as the return of more conservative tropes in entertainment, the 90s had a surging rebellious spirit visible in much of its art.

The 90s typified contradiction in the scape of entertainment. There were a number of popular artists who outright rejected this rebellious spirit, but there were a great many who embraced it with their words and deeds. Some of the most legendary artists of all time were born out of this confused soundscape. Once the dust settled on the decade overall, there were left a fair share of one-hit wonders for us to examine and appreciate.

How much do you know about the musical history of this legendary decade? Take our One-Hit Wonders of the 90s Quiz to find out.
