The New Deal Quiz

The New Deal Quiz

When America entered one of its most dire periods, radical solutions were proposed. These ideas were so unprecedented that they still remain highly controversial even to this day. The New Deal was an American political overhaul that changed much across the country.

Its intended goal was to revolutionize America’s economy to lift the common folk out of the pits of financial hardship. How well it accomplished that goal is up for debate. What isn’t debatable is how thoroughly the New Deal changed the relationship between the American government and private enterprise.

Over the course of mere years, it seemed as if the country performed a 180 on its previous economic philosophy. Brand new institutions, programs, and bills began to roll out at an accelerated pace all attempting to stabilize a nightmare period in American history. Desperation drove the American people to unfortunate depths all in the name of survival. In that regard, the New Deal is sometimes seen as an important step in righting a sinking ship.

The programs’ detractors claim that the ship would have righted itself eventually and that the government overhaul from the New Deal ended up doing more harm than good. Regardless of these interpretations, this quiz will examine a wide swath of elements relating to the New Deal.

As much as to test, this quiz is meant to inform. So, we hope you come out of it knowing something new.
