Trivia Question: What Babylonian King is known for his preserved codes of law that were largely retaliatory in nature?
The Code of Hammurabi operated under a principle we would call “An eye for an eye.” In order to discourage criminality and violence, Hammurabi set strict punishments to be enacted on perpetrators. Historians believe this code originated around 1750 B.C.
