Trivia Question: What British commander surrendered his command to Washington after the Siege of Yorktown in 1781?
Answer: Charles Cornwallis
Cornwallis was tasked with overseeing the suppression of revolutionary forces in America. He failed at that. Witnesses claim that Cornwallis was so ashamed of his defeat that he had an aide go and surrender to Washington.
