Trivia Question: What man headed the Gestapo from 1936 to 1945?
Answer: Heinrich Himmler
The responsibilities of the Gestapo were broad but generally consisted of intimidating the populace into submission. As Nazi Germany’s secret police, they committed terrible atrocities to enforce Hitler’s will. Himmler was the man who fundamentally let them off their leashes and allowed them to run rampant.
