Answer: Silk Road (The Silk Route)

As the name implies, silk was a primary commodity shipped along this route. China’s silkworms could produce the luxurious material and European nobles were willing to pay exorbitant prices for it. Marco Polo also famously traveled the Silk Road and recorded his journeys.
