Answer: Calcutta

The Black Hole of Calcutta was built underneath the British emplacement of Fort William. After a fearsome rebellion, the fort’s British operators and their Indian allies were forced into the Black Hole which was far too confined to house all of them safely. 123 people died of suffocation and heat exhaustion in the Black Hole of Calcutta.
