War of 1812 Trivia Quiz

War of 1812 Trivia Quiz

After Americans fought and died for the cause of liberty, there was a brief period of peace. In this time, the American public put down their arms and picked up quills to begin founding the American government that still exists today.

The Constitution established sweeping changes across the American nation and set preliminary rules in place to help their society become fully self-sufficient.

Unfortunately, those couple decades of peaceful sovereignty would not last. Old wounds were reopened when the British Empire began to enact vengeance upon the fledgling American nation. Since the Revolution began, American and Britain understandably had considerable reasons for feuding.

But even after the treaty was signed that ended the Revolutionary War, the British continuously violated its terms in an attempt to intimidate the independent American government. There were multiple human rights abuses committed by the Empire over lost land.

In 1812, those tensions boiled over into full war. Yet, America was ill-prepared for such a major conflict. As a result, the War of 1812 proved a violent and difficult battle for America. The British claimed many victories before America found its footing. And by the time the scales were growing more even, the war concluded.
