Answer: John F. Kennedy

Much of N.A.S.A.’s activity centered on Cape Canaveral. Since Kennedy approved the research to put Americans on the moon, Cape Canaveral was originally named in his honor. Still honoring his legacy is the Kennedy Space Center which is located within Cape Canaveral.
